We only have one team playing in this tournament, the 8 Grade team. The tournament is hosted by Garden City Kings out of Augusta, GA.

Coaches Attire: All coaches must wear a collared shirt. (Required for a Coaches Pass)

Playing Times: 2nd - 6th grade plays 12 minutes per half (2 halves per game).
7th grade and up plays 15 minutes per half (2 halves per game).
3 minute half time, 2 minute overtime.

Warm Up: 5 minutes

Wait Time: 10 minute wait period. After 10 minutes automatic forfeit. Teams must have a minimum of 4 players for the game to begin.

Balls: Teams must provide their own warm-up and game balls. Home team is responsible for the game ball.

Clock: Clock will stop at time outs, dead balls, and free throws. If a team is up by 25 points, the clock will run until the score is under 25 points.

Pool & Bracket Play: Pool and bracket play will be based on grade level. Grade levels may be combined to complete brackets. Ex: 4th grade and 5th Grade, 5th Grade and 6th Grade, 6th grade and 7th grade. If brackets are combined a minimum of 2 teams is needed per grade to compete for the grade level championship. A team will not be scheduled to play up or down no more than one grade level.

Divisions: Garden City Kings understand the need to provide leveled competition and opportunity for all teams and players. We will try to provide 2 divisions per grade level based on the demand of the tournament and number of teams. Therefore, Division 1 and Division 2 teams will enjoy the opportunity to compete for a championship within the same tournament. **Garden City Kings Directors reserve the right to determine team's Division eligibility.

Game Guarantees: Your team will be guaranteed to play a minimum of three games.

Refunds: No Refunds after registration. No Exceptions.

Championship Game: Top 2 teams per bracket or pool.

Coaches Passes: Two per team (applies to coaches). Individuals must sign in to receive free pass.

Team Rosters: Team rosters must be provided prior to the start of the first game.

Time Outs: Each team will have 4 timeouts per game (2 per half), 1 timeout per overtime.

Fouls: Players will foul out after 5 fouls

Food and Drinks: No outside food or drinks.

Press Rule: Teams ahead by 25 points or more at any point in the second half must play defense behind their three-point arc. First offense: Warning, Second and all additional offenses: 2 shot technical.

Basketball Size: 2th through 6th Grade 28.5 circumference basketball. 7th Grade and Up 29.5”

Bench Personnel: A team may have on its bench only the eligible persons listed on its official roster and three non-players (coaches, scorekeeper, etc.). At least one person age 18 or older must be on the bench at all times.

Uniforms: Players' jerseys must have numbers on both the front and back. Numbers can be 00-99.

Uniform Colors: Home wears white/light colored jerseys and Visitor wears dark jerseys. All players must be in uniform.

Awards: Team trophies and/or medals will be presented to the top 2 teams in each division. Awards will be only be provided for players listed on the team waiver/roster.

Ejections

1. Any coach ejected for fighting will be removed for the remainder of the tournament.
2. Any player recorded on the official score sheet as ejected for fighting will be prohibited from playing in the next scheduled game.
3. Any player or coach will be ejected after 2nd technical fouls per game.


Sportsmanship: It is the obligation of coaches, players, administrators, volunteers, and other representatives to practice the highest principles of sportsmanship and to observe the ethics of competition. Good sportsmanship is defined as qualities of behavior, which are characterized by courtesy and genuine concern for others. The display of good sportsmanship is a statement of the individual's understanding and commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity.

The following ethical guidelines should be observed by all coaches:

1. The coach shall never place the value of winning above the value of instilling the highest desirable ideals of character. The coach must always consider the personal safety of the athlete.

2. The coach shall be thoroughly acquainted with the rules and regulations of competition, and shall be responsible for the interpretation to team members.

3. Game officials shall have the respect and support of the coach. The coach shall not indulge in conduct which will incite the players or spectators against the officials. Public criticism of the officials or players is unethical.

4. The coach should respect his opponents, display gracious behavior during competition and require his players to conduct themselves in similar fashion. Before and after the contest, rival coaches should exchange friendly greetings to set the correct tone for the event.

5. Coaches shall actively use their influence to enhance sportsmanship by spectators
